Happy cold Friday to everyone! Positive thought of the day --- at least it wasn't snowing on Thursday. Can you imagine how much snow we would have on the ground today!
I want to extend a HUGE thank you to all of our families for the support you showed for our Celebrate Good Times 80s Dinner/Dance. It was sold out and we heard nothing but positive comments about the entire event. The class basket raffle made $1344.00! Many requests were made to host another dance next year. The committee will be meeting next week to wrap-up everything and discuss that possibility. Once we have a final profit number, we will let everyone know.
Next Wednesday is an early dismissal day. All car riders must be picked up at the 2:35pm dismissal. This is also a spiritwear day.
During Catholic Schools Week, Camp Rancho Framasa presented to the students. When they left, they gave us a one-week campership (a scholarship for a one week camp stay). If your child, ages 7 and up, would like to be considered for this scholarship, please send a note to the office. Next Friday, we will pick randomly from the student names submitted.
Registration packets for next school year will be coming home shortly. Next year will be such an exciting time as we have our first classes in the new school building. I hope each of your children will be joining us. Kindergarten screening is Wednesday, March 6. If you know of someone with a kindergarten age student next year, please encourage them to contact the school office to get their child's name on the list. Space is limited.

3rd Grade SNS Broadcast
In conjunction with National School Choice Week, Jan. 20-26th, the Institute for Quality Education (IQE) held a video contest. The video had to explain why the students chose the school they attend and why it is the right fit for them. Mrs. Reer’s third grade class put together a script of a news broadcast summarizing their top 3 reasons they attend St. Nicholas. Their 3 top reasons were 3. Friends, 2. Academics, and #1. Faith. Over 200 National School Choice videos submitted to IQE, the third grade made it into the finalist selection of the top five.
A big Thank You to REMC for awarding us a grant for a new smart-board for 6th grade, and two I-pads and cases for Kindergarten!

Join us for an adult night out and support Catholic Education. Tickets are $25 each and include entrance in the drawdown (reverse raffle), chicken dinner, snacks, and draft beer. Greendale Theater is showing an early release of "Unplanned" based off of the book by author Abby Johnson, on March 28th for surrounding parishes.
